The success of any nation depends on the youth who further depends upon the quality of instruction. New age education is dominated today by DICE – Design, Innovation, Creativity and Entrepreneurship.It is important to orient young minds in understanding innovative learning practices to capture the new elements of DICE. Knowledge and its application are the only way, by which this can be achieved. The role of the teacher may have changed but the teacher still remains a vital guide and leader in a student’s educational journey. No other profession is designed to have such a transformative effect upon the lives of individuals in our society than teaching. We intend to keep working to help our current and future students to advance in their careers and achieve their goals. SevayatanSikshan Mahavidyalaya is consisting in a vast area. Well maintained garden, many large class rooms, one Boys &two Girls’ hostels, a large football ground and green surrounding are offering a real educational environment. The college has completed a very successful 65 years of great glorious educational service to the society. It’s a time we ponder what has been achieved during this long period and renewed resolve for filling a social need.

It was the vision of our founder members that this institution should provide selfless service in the field of education. SevayatanSikshan Mahavidyalaya has already been recognized as a Teachers’ TrainingCollege (Secondary) within terms of providing high-quality education to the students. Success does not respond to wisher. It responds only to definite plans backed by definite design through constant persistence and this constant persistence of the Teaching, Non-teaching staff and member of the Governing Body have made them able to successful.

The academic performance has been consistently spectacular particularly at the Baba Saheb Ambedkar Education University and also Vidyasagar University too.

Several constructional projects are going on with the full financial support from UGC, ERO, Kolkata and Govt. of West Bengal to cope with the demand of Higher Education. With the financial help of Higher Education Deptt. Govt. of West Bengal, large number of Books being purchased amounting to Rs. 5 lakh to the college library. 32 lakh rupees being granted by the Deptt. of Higher Education for the purchase of furniture for classrooms and seminar halls. A new canteen being constructed with financial help of Higher Education Deptt. The college is an immaculately maintained green, plastic free campus. Rainwater storage sumps are built to maintained underground water level and recharge underground aquifers. The college has a lush green, Tabacco free and plastic free campus with solar power, solar light, vermicompost units, providing environment friendly learning environment.

Introduction

The history and heritage of Sevayatan Sikshan Mahavidyalaya is undoubtedly as old as Eden and far as the stars. Browse through the B. Ed. courses offered which provide students with sound theory and methodology combined with practical.

To meet the growing demand for trained teachers in qualitative development of Secondary Schools in West Bengal, it was decided to open from 1959 a new Government Sponsored Post Graduate Teacher Education Degree College at the Sub-Divisional town of Jhargram situated on the South eastern railway in the district of Medinipur. The Trustees of Sevayatan agreed to offer land for building, site and necessary initial assistance for the implementation of the scheme. Accordingly, Sevayatan Sikshan Mahavidyalaya was started at Sevayatan about three miles off from the Sub-divisional headquarter. Sevayatan is committed to build an abode of service in respect of body, mind and soul. Harmonisation of the three aspects of human being is sought to be fulfilled mainly through education.
